Vertical 4.3K / 820D+ along the scenic Trail 1007

the RACE

The Valdobbiadene Pianezze vertical race “la Storica” is a competitive mountain race against the clock. Athletes start individually, with an interval of about 15-20 seconds between each.

The start line is set in Valdobbiadene square, from which participants ascend toward the Church of San Floriano. From the church parking lot, they follow the paved road for about 50 meters, then take a visible dirt path on the right, marked by a sign for trail 1007.

From here, athletes should follow the red-and-white markers and trail 1007 signs. The trail climbs steeply, crossing the paved road several times. In the initial section, it intersects with a mule track, but both routes eventually merge back together.

The first part of the trail winds through forest floor, then opens up into a large meadow. Along the ascent, there’s Trattoria da Vanin (at 750 m altitude) and the Perer area.

Afterward, participants will pass by the first houses and a small settlement. Here as well, they should follow trail 1007.

In a short time, they will reach Pianezze (1070 m altitude), where the finish line is located.
